Bluetooth Speaker

Product Design

Doing a project for a friend becomes tricky. Everything you know about that person fuels the project but that knowledge also makes it increasingly difficult. When designing for a demographic, you try to land your message somewhere in the middle. With an individual, you have one person to please and it is either hit or miss.

Because of the contour of the body, I decided 3D printing was my best approach. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to have it milled out of a solid piece of mahogany, but I just bought a 3D printer and it has taken up all my free time.

With a kit from Parts Express and access to a 3D printer, I was able to create a piece that stands out from other Bluetooth speakers as well as create something custom for a friend.
